    Skip the rental counter lines and check in directly by using Alamo's touch-screen kiosk. Check-in using the kiosk and a receipt-sized rental agreement is printed. You'll be directed to your hire car on the lot. At the exit booth, show the booth agent your rental agreement and driving licence—and simply drive away.

    In order to take advantage of this optional free service, you'll need to activate Accelerated Check-In online then choose the "Skip the Counter" option. You will be required to confirm your protection options, agree to the Rental Agreement Terms & Conditions and enter valid credit card details (there will be no charge until you return your vehicle). Simply print your rental agreement to bring with you, and you are all set! Go directly to your car, show the booth agent your rental agreement and driving licence—and get on the road!

Rental Policies

  • All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements.

    Additional drivers must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter.

    Additional drivers must sign the rental agreement.

    An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers.

     

    The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick up location.

  • Minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 and maximum is 75.

    Rental rates may be higher for renters and additional drivers under the age of 25.

  • According to the Federal Administration of Public Revenue, a government agency of Argentina, there has been an amendment to the Argentina cross border policy which allows temporary admission of leased vehicles from Argentina to Chile. Within the framework of the binational technical meetings, it was agreed to adopt a single form for the output and temporary admission of rented vehicles, and the recording of such events in a centralized database and information exchange via Internet between the two customs. Due to this change, please see below for the following process.  Driving is unrestricted within Argentina. Customer can also cross bordering states of Chile, Uruguay, and Brazil. Due to customs regulations, vehicles are not allowed to cross into Paraguay or Bolivia.                                                                                                                                                                                                 

    Chile-If Customer wishes to cross border into Chile, a permit which is valid into Chile only can be issued in the amount of 80 USD plus tax and airport fee.  Customer must request cross border pass at the time of reservation and must present a passport at the time of arrival. The cross border pass can only be issued by non airport locations and if customer is renting at the airport, they must go to the nearest non airport location to complete paperwork. The non airport rental station will submit the request through an online process which can take up to 48 hours to receive the permit.  The formal request form cannot be submitted before the customer signs the contract and customer must be present before transaction begins.  From Region 1, customer can take any vehicle, however in region 2, customers can take any vehicle except Economy and Compact vehicles across the border into Chile.

    Uruguay and Brazil-If Customer wishes to cross border into Uruguay and Brazil, a permit can be issued in the amount of 80 USD plus tax and airport fee. This permit is separate from the permit for Chile and it can also take up to 48 hours to receive the permit.

    Require Documents: Copy of renters passport and drivers license.  No one way rentals are allowed between countries.  Roadside Assistance- may be provided at an additional charge when traveling outside of Argentina.  Off-road driving is not allowed.

  • All one way rentals must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.  One way charges apply and are payable at time of rental.  One way charges cannot be prepaid.

  • As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.

    Option 1- We Refill

    • This option allows the renter to pay Alamo at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced.  Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices.  A 40% surcharge will apply.

    Option 2- You Refill

    • This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.
  • The purchase of CDW-TP is MANDATORY and required in order to rent a vehicle.  Coverage from third party websites or customers personal insurance is not valid in Argentina and does not waive the CDW-TP fee.

     Region I  - Bariloche, Belgrano Norte, Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Mar del Plata, Mendoza,  Posadas, Puerto Iguazu, Puerto Madero, Rosario, Santa Fe, San Juan, Salta, San Martin de los Andes, San Rafael and Tucuman-   4.70 USD  – Economy to Compact, 5.70 USD – Midsize to Full-size, 9.40 USD – Premium to Full-size Van.

     Region II - El Calafate, Neuquen, Puerto Madryn, Trelew and tohuaia-  5.30 USD – Economy to Compact, 6.70 USD – Midsize to Full-size,  11.00 USD – Premium to Full-size Van

  • Full and Valid Driver's License from country of origin written in roman alphabet. If not, International drivers licensee required.

  • A passport in addition to a credit card, with available credit and in the renter's name, must be presented.  The signature on the back must match the name imprinted on the card.  In addition, if the renter has an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card presented by renter must match the name and number stored for the online transaction.Credit Cards Honored: American Express, MasterCard, VISA, Diners Club, Discover.

    An authorization on the credit card will be taken on all rentals and may range from 1995 - 3420 USD, depending on car class.  This authorization amount may be used toward damages of vehicles, late charges or citations incurred during rental of vehicle.

    1995 USD for Economy to Compact
    2280 USD for Midsize to Fullsize
    3420 USD for Premium and above

    Debit-check cards are considered to be any non-credit card American Express, MasterCard, VISA, Diners Club, Discover logo.  Debit/Check cards are not accepted at this location.

    Cash is accepted as final payment but customer must still pre-authorize with valid credit card.

  • Must meet the locations minimum age requirements.

    Present a valid drivers license from country of origin or international drivers license.

    Present a major credit card in renters name at the time of rental.
